1...Comet means Hair...Laten Word.

2...Comets look like a star with shinning hair streaming 
    from it.

3...A Comet has no tail when it is farthest from the Sun.
    As it approaches the Sun. The light from the Sun drives 
    out some of the gases in the head of the Comet. This 
    forms a tail which shines in the sunlight.

4.  The head of a Comet is called: "C O M A" and is as large
    as the earth.

5.  The tail of a Comet can be as long as the distance from the 
    Earth to the Sun.
